Today we will be re reading ‘The Cautious Caterpillar’ from yesterday and this time we will be focusing on completing story maps based on what we have read. I have attached two story maps below. The story can be found in yesterday’s blog.

Story map 1: Write, talk and draw about the story using these question words.

  • Who is it about?
  • What happens in the story?
  • Where did the characters go?
  • Why did they go there?
  • When did the story take place?

Story map 2: Write, talk and draw about what happened in the beginning, middle and end of the story!

In maths today, the children will have to decide whether a sum is an addition or subtraction problem. I have attached worksheets for the children to complete.

As a challenge, ask the children to draw a cat without lifting their pencil from the page once. This will help the children practice their fine motor skills but is also a very enjoyable activity! Here is a video showing how to draw a dog without lifting your pencil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztdCSGXNvek

Have a marvellous day!
