Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is keeping well.

Activities for today:

Word work: Please see attached the words your child can practice this week. They are on yesterday’s blog post. We have been making great progress with our sight words so please keep it up everyone!

Jolly Phonics: Sounds revision. Revise sound oa. See Jolly phonics songs on youtube- link on Monday’s blog post. Children sing song, write sound and together think of some words that have the oa sound e.g. goat. Encourage your child to use their knowledge of rhyming words to think of more words.

News: Please write 3 / 4 sentences of “news” for your child to copy. Example: ‘Today is Tuesday. It is a sunny day. We are going for a walk today’. Encourage your child to tell you news and to use full sentences. Please remind your child about where different letters begin!

Maths: We have been making super progress with our maths, especially our counting. Please continue to complete mental maths activities like forwards and backwards counting, skip counting and use the maths websites I listed previously. Making Maths interactive and fun is very important for infants so please use as many of the resources I have provided as you like. Remember to keep activities short.

I have attached an Easter addition booklet, simple addition to ten.  The children can do one page of this booklet today, or more if they are very enthusiastic!

Reading: Please continue to encourage your child to read as much as possible during this time. New story in reader: Cow takes a bow. One/two pages of reader is enough, but please read more if your child would like to.

Continue to encourage your child in any free play activities, any art activities, jigsaws, playdough, cutting and pasting activities, movement breaks on gonoodle and games outside. All of these things are as equally important as academic work!
