Please make sure you practice your reading everyday. Continue with the new word list I gave you on Monday. For anyone that is looking for extra readers, Starfall which I mentioned on Tuesday is brilliant. Also Collins Connect (https://connect.collins.co.uk/school/Portal.aspx) have levelled readers from junior infants-2nd class available online free for parents. You need to register as a teacher using the following details. Username: parents@harpercollins.co.uk Password: Parents20!

For your writing today I’d like you to have a look at the picture of the Easter Bunny attached. Draw a picture of the Easter Bunny in your copy book and write 3 sentences to describe him. (E.g. The Easter Bunny is grey and white. He has long ears. He is wearing a bow tie.)

Log into folensonline using the log in details. Search ‘Abair Liom A’ in the search bar at the top of the page. Click on ‘Resources’ under ‘Abair Liom A’. Click on ‘Lesson’ near the top of the page. Click on ’22. Ag Féachaint ar an Teilifís’. Click on ‘Póstaer- Ag Féachaint ar an Teilifís’. Click on ‘Foclóir 1’. Revise the 5 new words which you learnt on Monday. I’ll be introducing another 4 new words tomorrow. If you press the play button at the bottom of the screen you’ll hear the pronunciation of all the words. Ask your child to find the picture in the poster of the word the person calls out. They will be familiar with doing this from school!

  • Ag féachaint ar an teilifís= watching TV
  • Teilifís= TV
  • Cartún= cartoon
  • Tolg = couch
  • Cathaoir= chair
  • Ríomhaire= computer

Log into Grow in Love https://app.growinlove.ie/en/login using the following login details. Email: trial@growinlove.ie Password: growinlove Click on Junior Infants/P1. Click on Theme 6: Holy Week & Easter. Click on 2.  Jesus dies on the Cross. Watch the video ‘Jesus dies on the Cross’. Click into the poster ‘Chatting: About Sad News’ and chat together with an adult about how Mary and Jesus’ friends must have felt when he died. When do you feel sad? What helps you to feel better?

Continue with pattern making today for maths. Draw 4 patterns in your copy. Draw two patterns using different shapes. E.g. square, circle, square, circle, square, circle could be one pattern. Triangle, rectangle, triangle, rectangle, triangle, rectangle could be the second pattern. If you want to make it a little more difficult you could do it with three shapes each time. For the final two patterns I’d like you to use colours. Draw 2 rows of 6 circles. Using different colours make patterns.

Don’t forget to take photos of your work and email me on stcolumJI@gmail.com. I’d love to see some of the work you’ve been doing and I can help with any questions you might have!
