Newsletter Term 3 2022
Good afternoon all.
We have lots of good news from school at the moment.
Our Violin lessons continue on Monday and Thursday and we will continue with the after-school Violin Club until Thursday 9th June. Many thanks to Ms. Nally for organizing all the lessons and for running the afterschool Violin club.
Pupils from 5th and 6th Classes are taking part in Sailing Lessons in Dun Laoghaire this term. We are very grateful to Mr. Walshe for facilitating and supervising these lessons.
First Holy Communion will take place on the 15th May at 12.15pm.
Confirmation will take place on 10th June. The time of the service will be confirmed nearer to the date.
Our school tour will take place to Fort Lucan on the 16th June. All classes in school will attend on the same day. The cost will be €30 per child, including bus transfer to and from Lucan. We will start a saving/payment scheme for this next week.
As we have now begun to ease Covid19 restrictions, Parents are invited to express interest in setting up a new Parents Association, please contact the school office officestcolumbanusns@gmail.com or 012821220
We will be updating our Home-work Policy for the 2022/23 School year and we would welcome any suggestion that parents might have for this. Please contact the office at the above email address.
Dates for your Diary:
From Tuesday 3rd May Breakfast Club will take place every school day at 8.45am. All are welcome. Please let Ms. Reddington know if your child will be attending.
Our Annual Book Fair Will take place from Tuesday 10th May. Details will be sent home with pupils.
Standardised tests will take place in the two weeks beginning 16th May.
We will be closed for the Bank Holiday on the 6th of June and a school holiday on the 7th June.
School reports will be issued on the 17th June.
School will close at 12pm on Friday 3rd June to facilitate staff training for the new Literacy Curriculum, on Friday 10th of June for Confirmation Day, on Friday 24th June for school holidays and at 1.35pm on Friday 17th June for our final staff meeting of the year.
