I hope everybody had a lovely weekend!

Today we will be working on a cloze procedure in English. This means we will have to read a paragraph and decide which word belongs to which sentence. I have attached the worksheet below. If you can’t print off the page then write down your answers somewhere else. Here are some steps to follow:

Step 1: Read the words they have given you twice, this will make sure they are in your mind as you read the paragraph.

Step 2: Read the paragraph twice before writing in any words. This will help you to not fall into any traps!

Step 3: Fill in the words and reread your paragraph. This will help you check if your paragraph makes sense!

When you are done you can take a picture of it and email it to stcolum12@gmail.com so I can see all of your fabulous work! Or, if you have any difficulty with the work, you can send an email and I will respond within the normal school hours!

In maths today, we will be building on the work we did on capacity last week. I have attached a worksheet below where the children will have to estimate (guess) and measure using containers at home! Remember an estimate is your best guess and it doesn’t matter if its not exactly right! You are just trying to get the closest guess that you can! Take pictures of your work and send it to stcolum12@gmail.com so I can see how much fun you are having measuring!

On the news we are hearing about lots of different countries like Spain, Italy, China and the USA so we are going to watch a video to learn more about the continents of the word. A continent is a part of the world that lots of countries belong to. For example Ireland and France are part of Europe while China is in Asia! However, there is one country that is SO BIG it gets its very own continent! Take a guess as to what country that might be and then watch this video to see if you guessed correctly! Good luck! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6DSMZ8b3LE

Have a majestic day!
