I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Today for your writing could you write your news for me please. What did you do at the weekend? About 3-4 sentences. E.g. Today is Monday. It is nice and sunny. Yesterday I baked a cake with mum. It was delicious. Ask somebody to write the news first for you on a piece of paper and you can copy it into your copybook afterwards. Draw a nice picture at the top half of the page to illustrate.

I’m attaching a new word list below. Please work hard over the next few days learning these words and I will send details about the new reader shortly. The first 4 words on the word list are sight words which I mentioned last week. These have to be memorised. For the rest of the words you should be able to use your knowledge of phonics when sounding them out.

Log into folensonline using the log in details posted on the blog on 18th March. Search ‘Abair Liom A’ in the search bar at the top of the page. Click on ‘Resources’ under ‘Abair Liom A’. Click on ‘Lesson’ near the top of the page. Click on ’22. Ag Féachaint ar an Teilifís’. Click on ‘Póstaer- Ag Féachaint ar an Teilifís’. Click on ‘Foclóir 1’. The children will learn 5 new words today. If you press the play button at the bottom of the screen you’ll hear the pronunciation of all the words. Ask your child to find the picture in the poster of the word the person calls out. They will be familiar with doing this from school!

  • Teilifís= TV
  • Cartún= cartoon
  • Tolg = couch
  • Cathaoir= chair

I’m attaching some Easter dot-to-dots for maths today. You will need to practice counting from 1-20 before you try it and make sure that you recognise all numbers 1-20 also! If you don’t have a printer ask someone to write the numbers 1-20 on small pieces of paper and try put them in the correct order.
