Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

Please see below some activities your child can do today. If you need a code for Seesaw or would like to get in touch, please email me at stcolumSI@gmail.com

Literacy: News. Please write 3 / 4 sentences about your news from the weekend. Remember to use careful handwriting and finger spaces! For example: Today is Monday. It is a sunny day. I went for a walk with my family yesterday. I will bake buns today. Remember to draw a picture when you are finished! Take a picture and post it to seesaw when you are finished.

Reading: Continue with our story we began last week, Sea lion splash! Look over these words before you start: hold   wall   stand   front   now

Read pages 47 and 48 aloud and post it seesaw

Maths: Put 1 minute on a timer. See how: far you can count in 1 minute and how many letters of the alphabet you can write in 1 minute! Was it easier or harder than you thought?

Watch the short video about the clock again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqawaP9yVzQ&feature=youtu.be

Which hand is the minute hand? (the longer hand) Which hand is the hour hand? (the shorter hand) Which way do the hands go around the clock? (clockwise)

Optional: Listen to this fun clock song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEmg914-9xY Clock Song!

Remember when we read the clock we check the where the minute hand is. When it is at 12 we say it is at O’Clock. Then we look and see where the hour hand is. We read it as hour O’Clock, e.g. 3 O’Clock

Planet Maths (big book) pg. 86 Draw in the hour hand. Make sure your hour hand is shorter than your minute hand!

Gaeilge: Log in to folensonline. Search Abair Liom senior infants in the search bar. Click on lesson 18 Mála nua. Click on the game cluiche meaitseála, a quiz where you have to match the word to the picture.
